The Unexpected 4.

I took out a condom from the left back pocket of the trouser I wore, tore it open and with one hand, slipped it on. I had bought a pack of 'ruff ryders' at the shop earlier in the day.

I spread her legs wide to reveal more of the the beauty of womanhood. Looking at a punny is a good feeling to the male folk but seeing a wet inviting red pusssy with the lips parted in front of you with the water flowing out of that slipperyway is a different ball game. My rod jerked, nodded and stood like men of the armed forces on parade. And yes! This rod was armed with raw energy within. I adjusted ready to go in.

I slid in.

"Uhhhh!!!!" Came her voice to high heavens. She would cry to be in heaven tonight. I slowly went in and by the time I rod was coming out? It came with the white sticky substance all over my rod! A good feeling. With every IN I went, she moan "uuhh!!" And her body went up with the effect of the thrust. Every time I slid out, her body came down with my rod in a "ahh! moan.

Soon, I was fucking Tega seriously. Tega ass seemed to be absorbing her strokes. When I ram into her, the thick massive chunk of raw flesh by the sides of her hips will vibrate. That was her ass protruding from under her.

I began to fuck Tega, gradually she became more alive. She wriggled and writhed like a snake, rubbig all over my back and head. She was twisting and these twisting added very much to the sensation I felt. I continued banging her.

Occasionally, she'd raise her back from the bed as I banged her. I kept fucking some sweetness into Tega. Or so I thought. Instead I was releasing a leashed beast in her.

I continued to screw her sensually with some erotic power strokes. With my heavy thrust suitable for a heavy nyansh, she suddenly moaned. A prolonged moan like a Tiger as she vibrated.

What was wrong with Tega I thought, I hadn't felt her vagina walls contrast, so why did she moaning like that?

Tega gave me a quick push as I fell to the side.

Tega got on top of me. For a moment I wondered if she was going to give me BJ?

No. She positioned herself over me. Each of her knees by my sides, she put her right hand under her to fit my dick in. Then she sat on my dick. Slowly she began to ride up and down. My hands went on her breasts. Tega knows how to ride. Very skilful in it. As she was riding me calmly, I could feel her maturity and experience coming into play. No rush.

She will go down to the base of my shaft, tighten her pussy and then slowing glide it upwards as if she's licking it with the lips of her pussy to my cap.

No rush.

She was calm, moving in a way that said she was in control. and yes, I had transferred controls to her. She was the one giving thrusts. I tell you, this was blissful. Tega gave me all a woman has got. She fucked nonsense out of my dick. I was breathing heavily. The fuck was like when a girl is using her punny to give ur rod a BJ, but this was worse, because the pussy was wet, succulent, tender and that classic smell of a 'well kept punny' fucking started to ooze mildly. It was an aphrodisiac. maybe a perfumes company can make a fragrance out of that scent!

Everything was sensual, erotic, calm and ecstatic.

Slow and steady Tega fucked my nuts loose. When she fucked me to the extent that I couldn't take it anymore, like my mind was going to explode, I moved her to the side. Bent her to get on all fours.

Goddammit!! See the ukwu!!!

Her big ass was what greeted my eyes. And it whet my appetite all the more. All I had seen while she was dressed was tip of an iceberg.

Her asss was that type that when u put ur hands to grab it, u discover heavy mass of flesh underneath. I guess that was why she wore skirt suit more, to hide how massive it is.

Wet and naked red punny stared up at me. I went into the sweetness of the punny. For the first time I heard "ah..baby yes..."

Wow the job had began. I increased my thrusts and started banging Oghenetega Oghaga till she went gaga!

My rod was ramming into her, the front of my laps was jamming the back of her laps, my rod was going in down to the shaft, almost my whole waist she going in too.

I was loosing it, I totally forgot myself annd all I could feel at that moment was Tega's supple inner flesh. Inside felt like there was something else in it.

I fucked, Tega fucked me back. I banged hard and strong. Her ass kept bouncing up and down. Sweet heaves!

Chei Tega was sweet. Her moans were conjuring up pleasure from where they were hidden. Pure pleasure only pusssy was capable of giving.

Her wet pusssy was discharging the water so much, it was flowing down her laps.

I pulled out my dick, inserted my middle and index fingers and went hunting the almighty Gspot. There's something reall G about that spot, I caressed it, Tega started dancing snake dance.

I think being under the influence increased our fun cos I couldn't imagine fucking a very 'professional' girl that wildly.

Like tigers in heat we fucked until she was about to cum.

She pulled out my rod and massaged her pussy, then slapped it like three times. I continued fucking her, her pussy contracted, she pulled out and massaged it, then slapped it gently and was letting out small moans. I removed her hands and went in banging her again. It was very thorough bang I gave her as her body quaked. She shook , moan hard, and was breathing hard. I felt water and her punnny forced my rod out. She came with a loud moan.
"Uhhhhhhhhh"
I was looking at that a man's first wonder of the world called Va-gina! Its a sweet place. I was looking as splashes of cum erupted out her pusssy.

As the water subsided, I moved in again. She wrapped her legs round me. I just couldn't take it, I felt my cum rushing from within my balls. In a shout of extreme victory I saw stars as I erupted.

My whole body immediately went limb. In the cool room, the AC just began to cool my sweat. Even with the air condition, we had been sweating profusely. A moment later I lazily went to the bathroom, stood under the shower for less than 20 seconds and went back out. Tega had quickly put her shorts on by the time I returned, her vest back on. I noticed the back pocket of her shorts bulged, I guessed her gstring. She opened the door and went out, I was just looking at her go. Barely, 5 seconds later, my door opened Funke came in!

I thought to myself 'why didn't this girl knock?'

"Funke oh I didn't send for anything"

"I know sir, I just wanted to know if you're okay"

What?!! Since when?! Hmmm...

"I'm fine, thanks" I managed to say "and help me with a bottle of water. Not chilled, ordinary one please"

"Ok sir"

She left, I walked to my wristwatch on the table, it was few minutes past 2am!

Is that when Funke wants to know if I'm okay?! She came back with the water and I bade her goodnight.

I later learnt from Tega that Funke was just inches away from the door when she had suddenly opened the door and must have been at the door all the while. Tega had caught Funke in an awkward situation and the only way to downplay it is to walk in like she was actually just coming. Funke must've been eavesdropping on I and Tega!

Throughout our stay, nobody would believe me and Tega. because I stayed the distance and didn't start acting familiar. Tega too. I spoke formally to her when we were on duty. We worked pretty okay as a team. And fucked like a good team too.

I was never a kiss and tell so Idowu and KC never knew. Till date, I never told any of them.

The next day it happened in her room, twice. it had been 8months she had sex last. I slept in her room that night. And we had a quickie in the morning.

Later in the day, her friends came to visit, two of them. They had heard she was in town on assignment, so they called her and came over. From her friends, it wasn't hard to tell a little about tega. Though she had introduced me as a colleague, I could it tell that they didn't believe her with the way they glanced at me sizing me up. Ladies and their ways sha! men might never truly undestand women.

The morning we left, at the reception night duty staff were still around and I saw Funke. I gave her some money, this time she couldnt refuse and gave the rest of the people at the counter another 5,000 naira. Funke respectfully said thank you. They had all been nice and helpful during our stay there.

Tega was there. And she surprised me when she pleasantly called Funke, chatted briefly with her and gave her another 5,000 naira. A driver was ready to take us to charter a car at Challenge. Mission accomplished.

Maybe Tega was free with the whole thing cos I was only on a contract at the bank to expire once the project was completed nationwide. I wasn't her colleague afterall. Truly, we got back and submitted back our IDs. Me and Tega stayed friends. We never really dated but about twice she called me to accompany her out. Both were to social gatherings. One a party, the other a get-together. Of course I have a carriage that keeps my head high in midst of who-is-who. And Tega felt very comfortable showing me off as she chatted and laughed freely, I calmly flashed smiles when necessary as she introduced me to friends.

By the end of our stay KC has bleeped 7 girls. Idowu 2. They teased me about being in the ancient city of Ibadan that boasts some of the most beautiful women imaginable and of course with the biggest batty and not doing anything. I just keep quiet and smile whenever I remember -'The Tiger'

Tega.

The Unexpected 3

"What is it" Tega asked a little surprised

"You'd find out soon enough" I said

We went into our rooms. Soon as I entered, switched on the TV and sat by the edge of my bed, the intercom rang

"Hello?"

"What's the gift you have for me" Tega asked calmly

"Tell me right now, I don't like surprises. You shouldn't have told me. You should have just given me whenever u want to give" she said angrily

"Okay, its a box of chocolates" I joked

Mtscheeeeeew! A looong hiss resounded in my ears

"Don't leave me in suspense again, I don't like it" with that she said goodnight and dropped.

Woow! I don cross my line this night.

Like a zombie, without thinking nor waiting I picked up the bottle of Baileys I had bought in the afternoon, opened my door and down the corridor I went straight to the door adjacent mine. I knocked.

"Who is it" I heard Tega ask

"Open up" I said hoping she'd catch on to the voice.

The next moment, the door flung wide open and in the doorway appeared a charm! Pure charm!

In a blue vest that hugged her at the breasts she stood looking at me. I couldn't help my eyes slowly moving from her face, down her neck to her breasts. I looked no further. And slowly I retraced the flow of the look back to her face directly into her eyes. She didn't take her eyes off me nor did she say a word all the while. Then she crossed her arms on her chest like to say

'Yes? What do you want?'

I just stretched forward my hand with the bottle of Baileys.

Her face lit up like a child handed a box of chocolates!

"Woow!".

She covered her mouth with one hand and put the palm of the other hand on her breasts cleavage. She was acting like Baileys was an out of this world thing. I think not. I figured she actually likes surprises, the opposite of what she had earlier said.

From her reaction, she must definitely love Baileys the extra mile. I did a good job of listening for details when conversing with a lady...for out of the heart a mouth speaketh. But I think the excitement is that it must have come at a right time too.

Without a word I turned back and walked back to my room, only to find out I didn't even close my room door. I entered and closed it behind. I went and took a shower and dialed kitchen that they bring up food with water to my room. They said they'd be up in 30minutes. Exactly 25 minutes later, Funke came up with what I requested. I thanked her. As she was going out I called her back. Picked up my wallet on the table and pulled out two crisp 1000 naira note and handed it to her. She asked what it was for that our food had been paid for. I said it was for her to keep. To my amazement, she calmly smiled and said "Oh, thank you sir. but I can't receive tips"

Before I could say anything else, she gently placed it on the side stool, walked to the door and said

"Goodnight Sir. And please dont be offended"

With that, she left. I think I had a protective likeness for this cute girl which such dazzling hips. No, not to yansh. Just the natural likeness.

"Wait a minute" I hurriedly said "Have u seen that my friend, is she downstairs?"

"She only came to ask for ice blocks, she may be in her room now."

I realized I had used the wrong word to ask. My friend or my colleague?

I ate, dialed kitchen again to clear the table. It was Funke again.

"Are u people specifically assigned to each guest?"

"No, we are assigned to rooms"

Hmmm...

The relationship between me and Funke was somewhat of respect.  Or again, she might just be a very likeable person naturally.. I sensed she may like me. That look in her dreamy eyes and the way she talked to me? But again, a guy shouldn't always get corky when a girl likes him because it might just be for the wrong reasons and kill her vibes.

I treat people who attend to me right. Regardless who or where. You render me a service that I actually paid for, I'd still say "Thank you". You know, just courtesy. And still give tips freely when I can.

When I call on the intercom, I make any request with "Please..." I say thank you when they attend to me

When they greet me, I don't start with "how are you?" I go with "hello" or I say "Good morning" right back. Just avoid being obnoxious when you are loaded with cash. One evening I gave away a pack of fumman juice. I had requested one not chilled, they brought a chilled one. Instead of getting angry and being rude to any of them, I looked the other way. The next person that came up was Joe the cleaner.

After cleaning I asked him to sit. He removed his cap and cleaned his hands on his shirt before sitting. I gave him to juice to drink. He was shocked. Those little things that matter. Little did I know that Joe had gone to spread word about me being nice to him. This, I suspected endeared many of them to me. Funke inclusive.

So, I could easily ask a favour of any of them and they will oblige me.

But while i was Mr Nice Guy, I would later learn when we got back to lagos that KC had banged one of the hotel attendants. Idowu told me. KC had given her the girl some money that night and got laid.
Idowu had wanted to fuck Funke, but since she wouldn't bulge he lost out.

Knock knock on my door brought me back from my thoughts. I checked the time,

Who could it be?

"who?" I asked in a low tone.
"Open" I recognized the voice.

My door opened and Tega entered with the bottle of Baileys, chilled.

"Don't you ever lock your door?"

"I'm not expecting a thief" I said. She laughed.

"I thought you'd have finished the whole bottle"

"Did you think I was going to drink it all alone?"

I laughed.

"Sorry if the suspense was unnecessary" I said in a casual attempt to apologize

"A pleasant gift. The whole week had been rather dull, just routines. From the hotel to the branches and back and same thing the next day" she retorted.

With a sigh, she sank on the bed.

I got up and dialed kitchen for two cups. It was Funke who came up with them. She entered, didn't look at anybody's face, dropped the cups and left.

"Why do u make the girl nervous" I asked

"Who? Me? Maybe she thinks I'm ur girlfriend, or wife" she said after a brief hesistation.

"And u'd be staying in a different room? so you really think if you were my girlfriend, i'd let you stay in a different room?" I flirted sensing the mood.

Tega laughed in a 'girlie' manner but did not say anything

"That one can never happen o" I said...

On and on we chatted. She poured us the drink, handed a cup to me and went straight to my laptop. Next song I heard playing was Brian Adams singing 'Heaven'. a cool song, I tell you!

She was lying on the bed. I sat on the chair and we were talking nothing significant.

The content of her cup drained and she stretched out the cup. I refilled it.

That sweetness of the cream! Easily to sip. Slowly we got tipsy, then we got high.

"Do you have any song by Anita Baker" she asked.
But why couldn't she just check list of artists in  my windows media player or song in the iTunes.

"Yeah, many" I went over to where she laid. I sat by the edge of the bed, slightly turned the laptop to search for the song. At the angle I turned it, she adjusted to see what I was doing. The side of her face was touching my upper arm. I had a vest on.

Her face touching my arm sent tingles through my body. I sipped at my drink, camly. But like a lion whose hunting instinct had been ignited had sensed and marked his meal. I found and played soul music from Baker. Seemingly oblivious of her face touching my arm and sending some warmth. I had not the slightest idea of what Anita Baker does to her. Nor of the extent Baileys had done.

"I'm surprised you listen to such songs" she teased.

"I listened to all these in the 90s as a young chap toasting with smooth lines from Boys II Men and co"

Suddenly she bursted out laughing. I looked at her cup -empty!

I poured more into her cup and poured in mine too. Sweet baileys, the silent 'discombabulator' of defenses. Sweet she sips, higher she gets.

"Then you should show me ur dance steps"

Without a word, I set down my cup, took her by her left arm and pulled her up. She staggered a bit but gained balance. I stood behind her and my hands went round her tummy, that space of flesh between her vest and shorts, below the navel.

My chest on her back, she swung her two hands behind to my neck and was playing with my ears.

Knowing how sensitive a woman's neck is, I planted a kiss. She didn't move. I planted another. This time slower. I kissed the back of her neck with my lips slightly apart such that the inner soft layer of my mouth was what kissed her. Then slowly I dragged the kiss down her neck such that my upper lip that brushing down her neck down 2 inches. She twisted.

My hands moved upward to lightly touch her breasts. Then under her vest my hands went. Touching the base of the breasts first, I felt the smoothness. I caressed her breasts a little more.

Just then, I my hand dropped to her sides, slid behind her and was on my trouser, gently rubbing it in a slow circular motion. And slowly, the sleeping giant began to awake!

Still standing behind her, one hand remained fondling her breast, the other headed 'South-South' to liberate the region. My hand went into her short, into her camel toe. My heart had started beating.

We were under the influence!

My fingers were instantly briefed of the job by the brain. Her laps were huge that my fingers had to work their way parting her fleshy lap to get into her, she adjusted a bit to let the finger in. I felt that tenderness of the inner lips of a punny. She wriggled and was tightening her laps more in the sweetness of the pleasure, crushing the fingers in. I removed my hand, turned her round and to face me, then slightly guided her backwards as she fell on the bed and rebounded.I came on top of her. My mouth went straight for breasts.

They were sumptuous. And succulent. I began to caress those breasts. I sucked those breasts. Damn those breast were like oranges. For a thick figure like hers they were firm, really firm. I forgot the world as I sucked like a baby. It was like the breasts were eggs. Smooth as eggshells. I sucked until I heard the first moan.

Babies could ejaculate hearing those sensual moans, but not men. definitely not an Alpha.

While my mouth was still on the breast, my hands went under to the button of her short, I unbuttoned it and zipped it down. I pulled it off to reveal a black g-string. One look at the hips told me how massive her nyansh was. Of what she carried behind her. As her weight pressed down on the bed, and the flesh at her hips doubled and folded into rumps. Raw yansh! Raw flesh!! I nearly went mad! That was a massive chunk of flesh by her pelvic area. I pulled off the g-string while she raised her ass to let it off.
I fondled her clit for a moment while she got more and more wet, i slid in a finger, it was tight! Even for a middle finger?

I pushed in the finger and began to fuck her with it.

Oh Tega! Her pucssy was succulent. Very soft punny. Then I decided to take a look!!!

Lawd! Good Lawd!! Her puscsy labia was swollen soft. Yeah, she had chubby punanny. The lips of her vaginna were huge and flesh. And that while slippery ever juicy water was all over it. She was wet to her very outter pussy. Deep inside the red punny facing me was a fountain releasing the pussssy juice to flow freely. I was seeing everything live and it added some ectasy to the experience.

A wet pussy in front of me? My rod nodded. It knows a good food. And damn this punanny will be screwed in a way all women will want theirs handled. My dick had grown into a full fledge weapon of pussy attention giver.

The Unexpected 2

I had my earphones on, listening to music while Idowu and KC chatted with the driver.

Suddenly I heard a sudden burst of laughter so I quickly removed the earphones to hear what the joke was about. KC had started his jokes. Idowu was laughing hysterically. Even the driver was laughing too. I turned back, Tega was saying...

"You guys seem to be used to working in an informal setting"

"Well, we're considered to be off duty till we sign in the log register at the branch" I Jokingly replied

"The bank considers you on duty cos the risk of this journey is on them"

Like she had been suppressing the laughter from Kc's jokes, there was a forceful laugh when KC got to the part of the story where his guest's high heels was stolen from the door of his one room somewhere in Oregun. The visiting girl had come with six inches heel that KC equated to an Iroko tree. After her visit and 'forming' for him, she was set to go only to find her shoe was missing from the foot mat at the door of his room.

We all busted into laughter. Tega laughed too, but it was obvious she tried to control it.

Ibadan is a lively city. Fleshy women abound. Full busty girls seemed to be in every nook and cranny of Ibadan. I wondered at the many beautiful works of art called women peacefully going about their businesses here. Although a bit loud, a typical 'Ibadanese' as KC would call them wasn't bothered about that. In fact, they'd show off the pride in themselves by cussing you out.
There were also people dressed in native. Something rare on a typical Monday in Lagos.

Unusual also, was that many of the houses are not orderly arranged into streets per se. The back of one house could be facing the front of another person's house.Or perhaps, unusual to people new to the lively ancient city.

The car was to take us to a hotel Tega had described to him. The plan was to take rooms and drop our bags then he'd take us to the branch we were to visit first.

But on getting to Ibadan we were lagging behind on time. If we went to the hotel first, we'd be late to the branch, which was unacceptable. So we headed straight to the branch. Paid the driver and Tega even gave him extras. He was a very lively and accommodating elderly man. He laughed hysterically through the  journey that lasted about two hours and doubled as a travel guide.

The Branch Manager received us very well, as though we were some very special and high powered delegate from Head Office. Very warm reception. They had been expecting us. We dropped our bags in his office, we set to work. Tega was to coordinate and oversee what we did while we did the hands-on job.
At the end of the day's job, we had successfully upgraded the branch to the HO's new standard. We finished at few minutes to 7pm. The BM was delighted. He asked where we were staying, we said no were just going to look for an accommodation. He called the driver to put out bags in the boot and asked us to give him the pleasure of hosting us. They called the head of marketing and asked for the department's car.

He got into the front seat of his own official car. I sat behind the driver while Tega sat beside, behind the BM.

In the other car was the Admin, Idowu and KC.

We rode in front while the other car trailed behind.

Minutes later, we drove into the drive-way of an exquisite hotel at Challenge. From the reception, the hotel told of some good experiences to come. Hmm....
Anyway, at this time I was already tired. I couldn't wait to take a gulp of some rum. I had come along with one.

The BM had called the manager of the hotel on the way so the reception was nice. Like Very Important Persons were here. Tega took a room, I took another adjacent hers. KC and ID took rooms downstairs.
The driver was to come and get us at 8am. We thanked the kind BM and he left. He had requested we drop our bags and join him for a drink but we declined as we were tired. I was beginning to wonder if this 'kind' man wasn't after any of us. Definitely we, the guys. You never know with all these very 'kind' bank managers. Lol.
Well, everyone retired to their rooms. I opened my bag and brought out the bottle of rum I had come with.

An attendant knocked and asked what I wanted to have for dinner. I could order anything. I guess that's why the Admin came along.

I rather asked if she could get my shirt and trousers to the laundry to have them pressed. She obliged, walked over to the intercom on the side stool and dialed the laundry. As she walked over I could she how much of a good shape she had but I'm a bit too conserved *wink* to be that raunchy. I didn't give her a second thought. As I handed her the clothes she asked about what I wanted to eat. I asked her what time the restaurant closes, she said 10pm. But that guest staying in the hotel can call the kitchen for food or drinks 24hours a day. I asked her to help me get a glass cup. She left and came back with two wine cups on a tray. So i teased if I was still to pay for room service. Because you never know with these hotels. They can bill you just for bringing an empty cup. She passed off my naivety as a joke. I shrugged and took it as she left. I didn't know what can over the conservative guy o, but as she turned to go, my eyes fell of the calabash of this girl o. I had to shake it off once the door closed behind her. I poured a bit of rum into it and gulped it down. Still, images of what I had just seen wouldn't leave me be.
Minutes later I felt the hunger of the whole day tightening up the walls of my stomach. I decided to go down to the restaurant instead of calling them up. It'll afford me the opportunity to see around where I was staying better.

As I stepped into the restaurant, there was Tega! Seated on a table with a pack of Fumman orange juice, and snacks. Well, if I went to another table it will look lame. So I joined her.

"Tega" I called out
She turned around to see me

"You should be resting for the work ahead tomorrow stag" she joked.

"I just wanted to have a feel of this place a little" images from what I had just seen flashed across

"Its a nice place really. And i think the BM was nice" she said

"I hope it reflects in your reports" I teased

She laughed.

We started chatting.

"Your lens is a bit thicker than average" I quipped "what's your measurement"

"Do u use glasses too?" She asked

"No" I replied
"You asked like you use one"
"Its no rocket science that focal length is measured"

We chatted some more, well into an hour.

From the chat I knew she was from the state 'with a big heart'. From remarks and comments she made I knew she wasn't married and stayed at an estate opposite that Presbyterian church in Yaba. Tajudeen blah blah...

In a very careless manner I mentioned I just took a quick shot of rum. She asked where? And I foolishly told her I had come along with a bottle. She didn't seem to like the sound of that. Immediately i noticed her subtle reaction, I asked her and she explained that it's not like she doesn't enjoy drinks but does not do rums, she rather enjoys creams like baileys but certainly not while on a job.

We talked a lot more and I found out she he had schooled in UI years ago and knew Ibadan fairly well. And that some of her friends still stay in Ibadan.

We chatted other small stuff and about our job in Ibadan.

During our chat, the lady that took my clothes for to the laundry room for ironing came and said it was ready. I just pulled out my room key and asked her to drop it for me. As she walked away, I glanced at her gentle sways. And yes, those swayings swayed my mind away from Tega briefly...

A good sway makes a man excited, no doubt. Don't blame me, God's programming.

Tega asked me why I'd give my room key to a hotel attendants, did I not know they are thieves? I just smiled and said

"This one is not" I replied

"And why do you know a thief if I may ask" she retorted

You know a good girl in her mannerism

"Then you'd be a type to be easily deceived"

"On the contrary Tega" I smiled.

"Well, I hope u don't have any money in the room"

"I do"

"Then it must be change"

"No. Quite an amount" I said

"So you trust so easily?"

"No, I don't trust easily" but "Sometimes, I give nature benefit of doubt"

That night passed.

I have come to know Tega as friendly and doesn't overstep boundaries. And I refrained from being too 'familiar' with her. Some jokes, chats, and questions, yet a little distance.

From the hotel, the driver came on time and picked us to the branch where we thanked the BM heartily, he asked the driver to drop us at the next branch we were to work. He called the BM of that branch on phone and said

"They will be at your place soon. When they finish, they may go back to same hotel they stayed or if they decide on a change"

He said these like he tried to pass on a message that he's no longer taking care of anything else since we were done with this branch.

After the day's successful work, the BM asked the driver and one other guy to take us to where we stayed. I think the guy was to find out how much the accommodation was and two meals for each of us.

For every branch we worked, the each BM provided an official vehicle to transport us to and fro the branch from the hotel, the bills (feeding and laundry).

On the third day, I noticed something. When we got back to the hotel and refreshed, we came out. It had become a ritual to get back, shower and come out of our rooms, or maybe we were looking forward to seeing each other and our chats. She was at the reception area when I strolled down to get call credit for my phones. She was in a pair of brown shorts and slacks. We were talking when that same attendant was passing by and greeted me. I greeted her back and...

"What's ur name?"

"Funke" then she also greeted Tega

"Okay, thanks for the other day"

"No problem sir" Funke replied, turned and left

When I turned to face Tega, she was different!

Her eyes had rage in them!! She gave that look your girlfriend wears when she's with you and catches u looking at another girl. Envy? But that can't be. There's a wide gap in status between Tega and a hotel attendant. Well, maybe I didn't understand that attention matters to a girl. One I had unconsciously given her. And she wouldn't want a shapely 'rival' around her while we gisted about the day's event. Though, I had thought how nice it'd be with a girl like Tega but I never thought it possible.

Oops!.. :O

Since when? I must have been slow to catch on that her "Good morning" formal greetings had turned to "Hi"

Her formal "How are you?" had turned to "how was your night?"

From nowhere Idowu and KC joined us. All four of us were talking and laughing when suddenly KC stopped and slowly stood up. I turned to see a girl thoroughly dressed with fresh make-up on her face walk up to us. Her lips shining with gloss.

At this time of the night, ladies' make-up are wearing off. How come she's so freshly dressed at this time of the night except she's a...

"I have to go" Kc said and without waiting for anyone to say anything, he walked over to the girl.

Tega just acted like she didn't know what's up.

"Na wa for KC o" Idowu said

"Its been days, u too should do something fast" I said jokingly to Idowu

"See who is talking. Mr team leader you don't even know my scores"

Tega looked up at him and slowing shook her head

"You guys should be careful" she said. Then raised her head to look straight into my eyes

"And you too, Stag" Tega said, her eyes piercing.

"That's why I came with a bottle of rum, u don't have to worry about me"

I could see a relief in those eyes.

She smiled.

Whaaatt!!! I looked at her but again didn't see any smile. I thought I had seen a quick sly smile somewhere on that face. Maybe I didn't see anything afterall.

Idowu yawned tired and retired to his room. Again I was left with Tega. After a while chatting, we bade goodnight and left to our rooms. Ten minutes later I my intercom buzzed

"Who's it" I wondered aloud into the mouthpiece.

"Its Tega" the voice responded

"Do you smell something?"

"No I said"

"There's a disturbing smell in my room"

"Like what" I asked

"Can u come, please?"

I went to her room. There were packs of juice, chocolate bars, and a trolley with milk, sugar, fruits on it. On the bed was her laptop and Bon Jovi was playing 'mystery train'.

Truly, I could smell that faint scent of SK. Whoever was in the next room must having been smoking some real odorless blunt. In this posh hotel? I asked her to call the reception but she refused. She then asked if I could stand outside with her till the smell fades. I obliged.

While outside I just jokingly said it would have been better if we waited in my room, it was awkward standing at this time of a night outside the corridor. She didn't object, rather she said

"I had thought about it too"

So we went to my room. She teased I didn't even know how to drink, the bottle of rum wasn't even up to half yet, indicating I don't drink much. She took videos I downloaded from you-tube from my laptop to her phone. Some 20minutes later we went back to her room and she could now sleep.

The next morning I found out from Funke it was a young chap that looked like a 'yahoo-boy' that took the room with his girlfriend. He had been staying there for two weeks.

I had woken up exceptionally strong on this morning. We set out to work. When it was lunch time, I decided to stroll out. Usually, the branch arranged food from an eatery. when I got outside I couldn't help but notice again that women in Ibadan had huge asses! Damn!!

It flashed in my mind that Tega schooled here. Maybe no wonder her huge batty.

I walked into a store to buy things. I bought cashew nuts, three cans of smirnoff ice. As I was about to leave my eyes caught something. A bottle of baileys! I bought it. The big size.

I returned to the branch office. On our way back to the hotel, I handed a can of smirnoff ice to Idowu and Kc each. Tega sat in front. The driver asked if there was any more for him. Lol. Even driver on duty wanted to indulge but I hadn't considered him. He dropped us off and I gave him 2,000 Naira to get whatever he wanted for himself. He was very happy.

As we walked through the reception, I said to Tega:

"I have a gift for you"...

The Unexpected.

At the time I was working with a consulting firm, freshly graduated, banks were merging and being swallowed up in a consolidation process initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Some banks have consultants who do auditing and accounting processes, recruitment etc for them.

When it was time to merge with other banks, they had to reconcile all branches across the nation. Most banks did not have the human capacity to carry out the reconcilation nationwide so they outsource such project to these consulting firms to handle.

This is how my firm came in.

This particular bank that hired us has its Head office at Lagos Island. Victoria Island specifically. Smart peeps can start their wild guesses, Lol!

Off we went on that Monday morning to the Island for briefing on the job.

Myself, my boss and other colleagues. Were were many. Such that could cover the entire nation in teams. Of course, to be that many my boss had to outsource for extra hands.

We are to collect certain data and relay direct to Head Office for merging and subsequently make manual changes on some systems in the branches for accounting. Some states have a lot of branches while some had fewer branches. Lagos and Ibadan had very many branches.

To make the task easier, we were grouped into teams. Each team of four had a team head which "will be communicated to you later..." we were told. And the team heads are members of staff of the bank. So each team had three people from my firm and one person from the bank who reports to the Head of Project.

My boss picked a leader among his workers in each team that would send reports to him directly. That leader for my team was me.

Though my leadership is still subject to the overall team leader, who was a staff of the bank and appointed by the bank to lead. That was the order of ranking. my other team mates from my head submitted reports to me while I in turn submitted to the Team Head to report to the Head of Project.

We had a break for lunch.

At the cafeteria, food was free but for staff of the bank alone. We  (from the firm) needed to get clearance before we could eat. So we had to get off the queue and wait in clusters round some tables, very humiliating.

The queue went on while we chatted among ourselves, of course creating some attention as many of the bank workers didn't know who we were.

A lot of lovely babes worked in this bank o! The cafeteria was alive with activities as people moved about, ate and left. Many of the ladies in high heels, glasses, trousers and blouses, skirt suits revealing very lovely shapes. Beautiful skins that told they were being well taken care of. even my nose at some point got confused because there was just too many nice smelling fragrances coming off these beautiful chic figures.

Many of them 'lovelies' in here! But one seemed to have caught my attention. Nothing out of the ordinary though but she had a batty. Yes, she had this huge ass that caught my eyes and as a sure guy, I began to assess it. Analyzing those curves that seemed to speak directly to my eyes. That type of ass that instantly makes u think of nothing more but sex. She was clad in black skirt suit. A white inner blouse. But I couldn't see her face well.

"Wow" I thought to myself

I shook it off and ran my eyes around some more. The more I tried to ignore it, the more i got more and more attracted to it.
"Which kain wahala be this nau" I said to myself.

Just then, the authorization came and we ate. After which we went back to the meeting room. There were more people this time around. I soon found out the difference. The team heads from the bank had joined us. Apparently they had their own morning session elsewhere. I was grouped in Team 7. One by one the project head called out the names of team leaders who either waved or briefly stood for identification.
"Team 1, the leader is..."
On and on the teams and the corresponding name as leader was called out. It was getting boring having to hear all those and my mind began to drift. Among the people being named by the bank were mostly guys (all looking smart in their black suits and tie), there were only two ladies. One of the ladies looked a bit too old. The other face looked like one I had seen earlier. I was wondering which of the guys might
My mind kept wondering and wandering until I was jolted back to the meeting room when I heard...

"Team 7, your team leader will be Tega Oghaga." A lady at the far end of the long conference table waved. I could see her properly. I could only see she wore a white blouse and a black jacket.

"Team 8..." The Project head went on.
later, we were to be issued ID cards from the bank. The arrangements seemed like we were staff of the bank. Surely, this bank had good working ethics: Everybody called everybody by name regardless how intimidating the superior's position is. Old or young, experienced professional or newbie.
Hmm, but that ends with the bank o, any attempt to call Mr Adekoya (my boss) by name and the next day, your colleagues will hear there are reasons why "...he couldn't continue with us".

After the session we at an inner meeting among the Prits Integrated Systems Ltd members of staff. We were to meet team heads in each team's meeting the following day.
Later that same evening, I received a text message saying we were to meet next morning at 9am in meeting room 3. It read something like

"Team 7 will be meeting in meeting room 3 by 9am tomorrow morning. Pls be punctual. T. Oghaga"

Next morning at 7:30, I was already there waiting cos I left home quite early at 5:30am. The AC did a good job in assisting me sleep. I rested my head on the table and took off after setting alarm on my phone...

Other colleagues started arriving and I awoke. We were chatting at about 8:50am when the door opened and a lady wearing glasses walked in.

"Hello everybody, my name is Tega. Oghaga Tega. And I am the team leader, sorry we could not meet yesterday..."

Wait a minute I had seen this hourglass figure somewhere, I tossed at my memory. Then it hit me, yesterday at the restaurant! Ah! Imagine remembering someone by her shape tells those curves must really be unforgettable! That awkward moment when you don't remember a lady's face until you see her hips! Then it hits you instantly. identification by ass. Lol. Show me your ass and I'd remember your name kinda moment.

"Wow" I heard myself say under my breath. Such a beauty up close. She was thick. Not fat, thick with a sensuality. Her skin looked soft at a glance. The type of skin oil money produced. She reminded me of Halle Berry. Dark definite eyes. Elegant!

One by one we introduced ourselves.

"So we will start at exactly 9" she was saying. And left.

She's the only lady in Team 7, the rest of us are guys. Myself, Idowu (we called I.D) and Kingsley (we called KC the menace). KC is the jovial one. He cracks jokes anytime anywhere not minding who was listening. Many times his jokes are not for office environment. He's a loud, careless talker. He'd talk about the girls he meets and many times in a very joking manner that u just end up laughing even when u know the jokes are too raw.

Soon as she left with the door barely closed behind her, KC cleared his throat in a way a guy would know what he meant.

Tega had an asss! Damn! Thick batty.

As she turned and slowly walked out, her huge batty rolled mildly. Up and down her ass went, creating a roller-coaster of feelings that culminated in blood gushing to the pelvic region.

KC's eyes copied. And I heard him say

"May the gods save us from the yanshes of this world"

Me and I.D busted into laughter. KC was such character!

I caught myself quickly as I needed to keep the team on track internally.

"Let's hope she carries the team along well. If she's a difficult person I'll let Mr Adekoya know if we can't work with her" I said

"Meanwhile, who knows Ibadan well enough to navigate?" I asked.

Nobody.

Minutes later, Tega walked back in. Pencil in one hand and a writing pad in the other.

Tega looked a little older than the rest of us. A glance at the fourth finger of her left hand, no ring. I tried to look closely if the finger had that lighter skin that the prolonged use of a marital ring produced around a finger. None. Could this mean she's not married, and never had?

Throughout the meeting she talked like a professional with the aura of an independent woman. Her fixed hair packed to the back. Very minimal make-up. Her glasses looked recommended for an eye defect, slightly thicker than average glasses. Well, I could manage with her. She didn't seem bad at all. She wasn't bossy, and did not try to assert herself.

She later explained why she was chosen as leader for the team to Ibadan was that she knew Ibadan a bit well amongst other considerations. (Or did the management know someone here wouldn't mind such batty?..)

Through the week we had trainings by the bank's staff. By Friday we had known Tega well enough. She wasn't judgmental at all. I'm sure she's a leader somewhere cos she was so natural at coordinating things and seemed to know how to deal with people. Even when u didn't catch on to something fast, she took her time to explain it. Soon, though KC still passed side comments about her fine shape, he had come to learn a lot from her. KC was the slowest learner among us, yet the craziest.

We were to leave on Monday. Although we were not given any official vehicle from Lagos, official vehicles were waiting in Ibadan, provided by the branches we were to work while we were at the branch.
Enough money had been made available to Tega for the round trip and all expenses (feeding, accommodation etc) had been arranged. While the bank made money available, Prit Intergrated Systems Ltd made money available to me for the project too as the leader of the team. So money was not a problem at all. We were well 'over stocked' with money.

Other teams headed north, east and south-south were put in flights to major cities with airports, from there they'd connect their destinations. We met at the Head Office at 7am to collect material we needed and by 7:30 we were in a taxi headed to Ojota park to charter a car. That old park in Ojota on the right, after the bridge from Maryland, Lagos. It was a very dusty park. I had two bundles of N500 notes in my bag that morning while the rest were cooling off in a temporary ATM meant for the project alone and couldn't be used once the money in it was all withdrawn.
Tega definitely had something higher. Chicken feed compared to the money made available for the entire week project which was cooling off in my account with instant access through ATM if need be.

The idea is that nothing must hinder you being at the branch at the time slated. 'You must deliver and on time'. No lateness. No excuses. We were to be in the branch 12noon that same day and we were to spend one week to cover all the branches in Ibadan. Iwo road, Dugbe, UCH area etc. That was a whole lot of work.

We chartered a Peugeot 504 for 15,000 Naira. That classic interstate traveler. KC sat in front, myself and ID sat on same seat. Tega 'the boss' sat at the back seat. With our bags loaded in the boot...

We left for Ibadan.

The Black Sheep Xv

Some have. Some have not. A reality that can not be changed. While we are at liberty to talk about making money and being rich, a few well bred consider it an unnecessary public discussion.
Bragging about money was not exactly Ada's thing but one look at her told of a wealthy background, no gain-saying. One would expect such a person to be arrogant, rude and obnoxious. Yet, she was polite, friendly and in the least case of not liking the person, she deals with curtsy and ethics. This has earned reputation as an easy going person. But regardless how much easy going one is, someone somewhere will think otherwise . Mercy had thought her otherwise. And had found solace with a like mind, Mr Sanya.
Mr Sanya was the type of ostentatious colleague who wants you to notice his new expensive wristwatch. When there was a social function to attend, a wedding, naming ceremony of end of year events, he was all in flashy gold jewelry. He talked about the neighborhood he stays, announcing it as being 'strictly for the rich'. He had his own clique and seemed to dole out cash leisurely.
Of course, most people who live such lifestyles always seek other ways of making money to maintain their fathom 'affluence'. While I was friendly with most of the members of staff, Mr Sanya was never really the kind of person I felt very free with.
One thing I have come to realize over time and meeting people is this: Those with wealthy backgrounds do not talk about money outside. Maybe one might call that 'proper upbringing' or 'home training' or because they just don't see anything about the fuss created around having money.

Bad belle is allowed. But there are a set of people who just automatically hates you because you seem to be a bit more than them. This was Ada's crime, the unfairness with the world. Some have a rethink and when some have this rethink, it solves the complex whole. As Mercy did.

Enough of that. But there's a link to this concluding part of the story. As to motives and affiliations. Mercy was taken to Mr Sanya in mutual dislike for Ada. Efe was the free minded guy who mingled freely with everyone, made everyone laugh. Not much is known to me about how Isa fits until I found out.

The next day at the office, the news about Isa spread like wild fire. Some felt pity for him, some did not. He paid the price for putting his hand into devious things. You get paid just for covering the lens of a security camera? How can you not know that something is wrong?
Well, people had their points but RIP to the dead.

I was at my table when absurdities began to turn into weirdness. I felt someone approaching my and looked. I was shocked!
"Good morning stag" Mercy said
"Good morning ma"
"How are you doing?"
"I'm doing okay. And you?"
"If I tell you I'm doing just great, what would my face tell you?"
I couldn't answer. I just looked on. Mercy's face looked unattended to, somewhat unkempt. I wondered if she had been crying because her eyes looked so. She managed a smile and said
"Do you have the time for a word?"
Mercy? Wants a word with me? What's happening here? What's all these about? There's only one way to find out...
"I could manage to have a minute" clearly telling her I'm not so much as to be wasteful with time, talking. Let alone to her.

Less than a minute later, we were outside. Once we were out..
"I know these past couple of days have been stressful for all of us..."
Is this really Mercy giving me a sermon? Or...
"...and I know you have a direct contact with that police officer in charge..."
"Detective James?"
"Yes, Detective James. Can we go see him?"
Okay, at this point I had to ask
"What's all these about?"
She wouldn't say anything. Well, I had to oblige her cos there had better been an explanation to all these.

An hour later, we were in the office of the detective. The first question she asked the officer amazed me. She asked to know how a voluntary witness will be protected if the person willingly comes forward. Or if the witness would need a separate lawyer.
I was taken aback. Has someone come out to Mercy and confessed or is she about to trick us into something...
Then in a rather strong and resolute way, she began with the finality of a speech well thought over and rehearsed...
"I will be a witness in the prosecution of Mr Sanya for all the charges against him."

Shocked! Shocked!! Shocked was I!!! Was I hearing right? Or I thought I was until I heard her next words...
"And for the death of Isa" she added after a brief pause.
The detective was a shocked as I was.
How rational was this? By this move, she saying she is not guilty but knows something in a case of attempted murder and murder. I was wowed!
Then she turned to me
"For my personal reasons, I came to you first. I could have come to the station by myself. So I'm sure what I've said here remains as confidential as it is to the officers in charge. That is, if you really want the perpetrator put behind bar."

Indeed, absurdities were turning the day into one of the weirdest yet.

She left me with the detective at the station after exchanging direct contacts et al. She always said she has made her confessions on being approached by Mr Sanya...

When I returned to the office, more shocking news greeted me.

Before coming to me in the morning, she had gone to the MD's office and submitted a letter. Resignation letter.

Mercy had resigned.

Mercy had resigned on personal grounds. The news took many of us unaware.

The next day went by. Other colleagues felt she ought to have been humiliated out of the company, given an inglorious exit. I didn't think much of that so I rather didn't comment much because people definitely would be looking forward to my opinion. Much more, to Ada's. Ada too spoke less about it, except of course, that the decision to quit was solely hers. No doubt everyone would expect her to have some relief, even Mercy would.

Efe hadn't been much of himself lately. I guess to an extent, he felt guilty of so many things. But he had been very useful in all these.

That morning, Detective James called and asked if we could see. I left for his office about forty-five minutes later.
In his office I met two other officers in mufti.
"Normally, we do not give out details of an investigation while its going on but you have been part of this all along..." The detective was saying. I had no response so I kept mute and he continued
"Mercy escaped being attacked last night. She went to buy domestic stuff in her neighborhood mart when some masked gunmen visited her apartment. Her neighbors saw these men clothed in black"
I was shocked. Mercy too was attacked? I did a double check and I asked myself
'Or was it staged?'

Hmmm... Anyway, Mercy had been moved to a different location and given two guards. Well, Mercy seemed to know more incriminating things than I thought. Obvious from the fact that someone would have her go the way of Isa. And can two guards save her? Except of course no one knows where she's been hid away.

Ironically, members of a clique haunting and hunting themselves! If you pledge your allegiance to a deadly group, you are automatically up for same.
Detective James' words jolted me back to the present.
"You were the only one who knew that Mercy wants to be witness"
"What?!" I blurted out!
"Its funny but all along you had been a suspect" he paused while I just starred blankly at the man
"But now we have case. A solid one that would more than a tough defense counsel to counter"
I relaxed a bit. Yeah, we were all suspects at some point I guess
"I called you here to say thank you" he said
"And to let you know you have been of tremendous help in this case. Thank you."
For a minute it sounded like I was being given an award for something. I mean, it felt good but the formality of it just made it a bit awkward.
It was nice being a civilian, unpaid volunteer detective. You know, like I was working undercover and stuff but until now I never really thought about some of the consequences. I could have been a target too, being part of the investigation.

I left there feeling really good and got to the office at about 1:45pm. Just as I sat down, I saw Detective James enter with the two other officers. The look on his face was strict and professional. It kind of baffled and unsettled me. What were they here for?

With a precision of purpose, they headed to the accounts section. Feeling like a part of the strike team or something, I followed. Just as I was arriving there I heard...
"Mr Sanya Olu, you are under arrest for the murder of one Mr Isa. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You are entitled to your legal counsel and in the case that you are not able to have one, one will be available to you."
Mr Sanya just stood there, not saying anything. The two other detectives with Detective James held and cuffed him. He was walked out of the office suite in a matter of few minutes, even before people realized what was going on. Before the MD was even informed of developments, Mr Sanya was seated in the police car headed out to cool off his heels in jail.

Epilogue
Mercy and Isa had come from same hometown. In fact, it was through Mercy that Mr Isa was employed. She happened to know his family well. His wife and herself even attend their tribe's social meetings here in Lagos every last sunday of the month. All the while, maybe only Efe knew how close they were.
So, it had happened that through Mercy, Mr Sanya and Isa had been even any close at all.

When Mr Sanya had things planned out, Mercy had declined the extreme measures he wanted to use. She was against harming her physically. Mercy had preferred things to be done on the job. So, after being rude to Ada, it was clear that Mr Sanya hadn't much power over affairs that much.

Since she would not play ball, Isa was the next sure bet to keep things discreet hinging on his loyalty to Mercy. He agreed. And was paid that same morning after covering the camera.
Mercy had told Mr Sanya she wouldn't be in the office that day for health reasons, Mr Sanya saw an opportunity. He told Isa to send his colleague to Ada that she had a visitor downstairs. Soon as Ada left to see who it was, the camera got covered and the contents of a rolled piece of paper was sprinkled into Ada food flask. In a rush, same paper was squeezed and thrown into the trash can. Mission accomplished.

Well, he was a loose end that could break under keen scrutiny. The mastermind had to act quickly. And eliminating traces was paramount. Isa was a trace.
Unfortunate, but he was an accomplice to attempted murder. What if the person they had poisoned had died? He would have just gone about his normal business, enjoying a good life out of the cash. The boomerang came back to ricochet off him.

Mercy had started to feel guilty in all of these. And broke finally when Isa died. So I ask, if Isa had not died, would she have felt sober enough to come out?

Well, I don't know how the layers would argue her out of any blames because knowing of a plan doesn't necessary make you part of the plan. Or she could argue she thought the plan was a joke initially during cross-examination.

Either way, Mr Sanya was in for one hell of a ride beyond jail to prison. The best his lawyers can do is shield him from being on death row. He had been running and his heels must really ache bad. Time to cool it off presently, in jail.

The Black Sheep XIv

My head began to work. I pondered over the clues long and hard. Poison is a woman's weapon. Cowardly for a man. And for some reasons, I think Mercy could have done this. A man would rather send assassins to eliminate their target or device other means that are more physical in approach and be done with it.

Although a number of this weren't connecting yet, I now see a motive. A rather strong motive. Unemployment in this country is a tale that even rural rats in far away Australia hear about. And the rate of this unemployment must be frightening for these graduates who schooled abroad and must return home after their academic stay there. Everyone would like to return home and hit the ground running. So it seems logical that some people might be making a few quids off these set of job seekers. And in the black market, everything sells as commodities. Maybe a few thousand dollars? Quite some money if you ask me.

But again, while Efe spoke he mentioned something like "...much like a story you've heard before." I could feel there was more than just the money. Mr Sanya. An odd fish in the kettle.
He once dated a lady in the office. It was his case that began the policy of no dating among colleagues in the firm. But what has that got to do with anything?

I recalled Isa. Suddenly bought himself a new okada. And the clothes he wore looked new too. Signs of money. Everything new at the same time. Sudden money. It occurred to me that he probably got paid for his role by his 'contractor'. Can his account tell anything sinister? How possible is it that the detectives get a print of his account details? Hmmm...

Connecting the dots was pulsating. The permutations and combinations of events juxtaposed with intentions and motives seemed like something I needed to ruminate over with someone. I should have to see the officers in charge.

I went to Ada's that evening but didn't mention my encounter with the masked text sender. We had some fun that evening and I was glad Ada was back to her real self. But of course, the shock of the incident has no totally left her. We played and kissed. After a while, I asked her to tell me about Mr Sanya and the lady he was dating. She did. And at the end of it, I saw another motive. Vengeance.
The lady had been sacked. And Mr Sanya had taken it very personal and blamed Ada for being on the MD's side.
Yet, in my view and although I can not be a judge in my own case, I thought the circumstances aren't exactly the same. They both connived and defrauded the company.
And for a moment I wondered why the MD kept a man with a bitter blood against him around him. Well, I guess same reasons as he preferred Ada stayed and I left. One of reasons being the company's investments on the senior staff. Trainings, conferences, seminars, professional bodies affiliations, many of which the company was responsible for. Gaining and retaining knowledge.

And so, Ada has become guilty of same crime and although he was ironically part of the disciplinary committee, he watched as I and Ada were being given options. Unlike his case where they had no options. And perhaps, this infuriated him more.
Vengeance and money is a bloody motive to kill for. Well, except I heard his side of the story, that vengeance part is what I really do not grasp.

I called Detective James that night when I got home and...

The next morning I left the office to see him. He was excited to see me for some reason. Then I got to know, Isa was co-operating. He has presently been released.

We settled down to ruminate over what I had gathered. He listened to me first and agreed to some suggestions.
He arranged to have a copy of Isa's statement of account. First, to ascertain if he had received any suspicious money recently, how much and who paid it in.

By afternoon, he called. Isa had received one hundred and fifty thousand naira the same day Ada had been poisoned. He had paid it in by himself around 3:30pm. Well, at least that money could explain the sudden acquisition of a bike and clothes.
This prompted my next question: Was such an amount paid for just covering a camera lens? I think not. Isa may be more into this than he is making it look.

The detective thought it was time the next moved was made. I was in the office when he arrived with two of his colleagues. They had come to 'invite' Mr Sanya over for a chat.
This sent shock across the office. Mr Sanya looked as far away from all these as possible. His name never came up anywhere close to the entire story. Nobody would think him a suspect.
Yet underground fingers pointed to clever sly man who plots but executes by proxy. A mastermind. Playing his foot soldiers like pawns on a chess board.

At the station, Isa had been lured back on the promise of having his statement torn. This was to accomplish a purpose: let two of them see that they are being interrogated at the same time in two different rooms. Each of them being promised reduced punishment or no punishment at all if he tells what he knew about the other person's involvement.
Mr Sanya was calm and looked a very calculated man. He wasn't a man that much much but looked a man with enough venom to poison obstacles to his plans.

At the end of the day, both were released.

The next day was the deciding day when precise arrests will be made and suspects charged with specific crimes.

But that same night, I my phone rang, I checked to see the caller. Detective James
"Good evening sir" I greeted him
"Stag something has happened. Isa is dead.

The Black Sheep XIII

I picked up my phone to see it was Ada calling. She went on to tell me she had just received a similar sms from an unfamiliar number, signed by Zoro.
A masked helper?
But why does Zoro not just come out and say what he knows, I thought to myself. Well, some times interests are delicately interwoven in such a way things that should be just straightforward end up being a jukebox of confusion.
This Zoro comes across to me like someone who knows something but stands to benefit something too. Or scared of something. Maybe the masked sender was the key to unraveling these mysteries that lay at the alter of my curiosity.

After I dropped the call, I turned to Detective James and asked if he really thinks Mercy is the culprit.
"No" he replied.
Continuing, he said
"She's either a good pretender or she knows absolutely nothing about it"
And he went on to add that Mercy is really feeble minded. She was thoroughly shaken at questioning. In my years of interrogating suspect, I have come to recognize true innocence.
We talked a bit more and I left. But as I turned to leave, he called me. I turned around to face him. He looked at me for a second and said
"The Commissioner is personally interested in this case. Ada's father is his bossom friend. And it was he who suggested to my Oga that you can help. That said, you should understand your limits around here."
"I understand my limits sir. If I in any way undermine or disrespect your authority, please call me to order."
I left.

I wondered a bit at what he meant. Was he just setting boundaries straight or did he feel threatened in any way?
The video we just went through had shown something he had overlooked. No face was captured. Nothing else but fingers. And one thing gave the hint.
The person who covered the camera had come from behind, underneath. When one enters through the door, there's a grey area to the left of the door, two footsteps away from the camera.
One, only someone who was very conversant with the cameras could know this. Or was given the detailed information by someone who knows on how to move discreetly along this grey area without being captured.
And on the left little finger of this person was a ring. A silver ring, not big. But a big shiny. And I could think of only one person I think I knew who wore odd looking jewelry on odd fingers.

This was bringing the detective over the next morning.

Thoughts of Ada filled my head. Such kind heart, intelligent and beautiful. Our conversations were enlightening and thought provoking. One could feel the power behind Ada's brain when she articulated her points in an argument. She was one never to make conclusions based on invalid premises. And when we debated thought provoking issues, there was always something to learn. Her comments on social media left me filled with pride.
She matched my areas of interest with the balance of someone who knows. When we talked philosophy, culture, history and other topics of mutual interests, she was always admirable.
Now laying helplessly on a sick bed having narrowly escaped death!
Memories flooded my mind. Our jokes, fun, hanging out, and most mind blowing love making. Oh! My Ada. Ada'm.
The beautiful angel she is! The gifts she bought for me were just a s beautiful and classy as she was. Even on a hospital bed, she still looked just as beautiful.

As I thought about all these, anger became to overwhelm me. Why would anyone try to hurt the one I love.
They say love is the singular most important fact that makes a man want to avenge.
But my rational mind engaged. Are you thoroughly sure she hadn't done anything to warrant it? Can you absolutely vouch for her? Hmmm...
Food for thought.

Yes, food for thought for anyone who didn't trust his lover. I trust Ada. I bet my coin on her. She's not Mercy's crude type. Rather, a sharp contrast. The incidence of the girl hawker that was involved in a hit and run and her strong convictions are enough deeds to want to make me rooster-sure she couldn't have done anything to warrant such evil thing as being poisoned befall her.

The MD. Mr Williams. Mercy. Efe. Mr Sanya. Tope... Wait a minute, Efe is close to almost everyone regardless imperfections. But there's an odd kind of office relationship between him and Mr Sanya.
Tope is the girl Ada had seem me with one day at the restaurant. We got employed about same time and went through training together.

Sometime ago, as I had been told, there a case of two lovebirds, one in Accounts and the other in Admin, I think. I tried hard to recollect the story as I had heard it. Questions came to mind.

Soon as I got to the office the next day, and settle in for the day, I looked for a way to get Mr Williams to tell me about that story. Well, he did. Somehow, something had felt similar in that story and the story of my love with Ada.
The guy in Accounts department was head over heals in love with the lady in Admin. So much so that he wanted to take her as a second wife. And she loved him in return. But there were other things. Shady. The lady in Admin had been blinded by the love for her man in Accounts and they both manipulated figures and defrauded the company. He had needed her to pull it off, and when it blew, she fell the scapegoat but didn't escape. She was prosecuted. Tales behind the scenes had it that she took the fall for the guy and so no charges were brought against him whatsoever as he claimed or rather, feigned total ignorant of what was going on. She went down for love. Not bad at all, it happens all the time, the world over.

But the thing there is...

The other guy in Accounts was Mr Sanya!

Bile built up lump in my throat. Somehow, my instinct stung me so hard, Mr Williams looked at me and asked
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine" but I think I am getting sick.
I stood and excused myself.
I hurried across the office to Efe's desk. As I approached I saw him seated at his computer.
I devised a calm diplomatic means to approach this heculian task I was going at. I was after someone and somehow Zoro could help me find the bandits...

Smiling from chin to chin in what is best described as fake smile, I warmly greeted Efe with a bait, fervently hoping he took the bait
"Good morning Zoro! How are you doing today?" With all the seeming charm I could muster
Efe looked up at me. He looked at me for a moment. I had began to wonder if I was wrong because I couldn't make out the expression on his face. Since I ever knew Efe, I have never seen such blank, expressionless and cold face.
Finally, he replied
"When Zoro is unmasked, he is no longer Zoro. I am Efe."
And with a finality he added
"Good morning Stag"
His reaction shocked me but in the next instant, I understood why while he had subtly admitted to being Zoro, he wouldn't admit it openly
"Good morning Mr James" he said as I turned back to see Detective James coming right behind me, in mufti.
"Good morning sir" I greeted him
We exchanged greetings and he left almost immediately.
I turned back to Efe.
"Little good deeds is what keeps the world going round. A world awaits the mask of Zoro to help find the bandit."
Efe just stared back at me. Agreeing to nothing. Disagreeing with nothing.
I went away.

All the while, Efe was Zoro.

I was back at my desk, surprised at the suddenly unexpected discoveries this morning. I hadn't sat 10 minutes when my phone rang and it was Detective James asking me to come down to the security post at the gate. I left for downstairs immediately. As I approached, I saw him with two security men and I wondered why he would ask me to come down to meet two security guys.
As he was about to say something, a bike rode up to the gate. I recognized the guy on the bike to be one of the security men. He wasn't dressed for duty and he's late. He horned and one of his colleagues went to open the gate for him, he rode in. He stopped where we were to greet us
"Good morning Mr Stag"
"Good morning Isa"
He greeted his boss too.
"You don buy okada?" His boss asked excitedly, with bewildered eyes.
"No so ooo Oga" he replied
And in a bid to show off his new acquisition, he raised he engine of his new machine. But as he turned the handle of the bike while raising it, my eyes caught something at his hand.

A shiny silver ring on his left little finger...

I think I was even slow to notice it because after seeing it, I looked up at Detective James to make an eye contact and direct his gaze there, I saw him smiling. Obviously, he too had seen it.

In committing crimes, people take great precautions to hide traces. But at every crime scene, there is always a clue. Little, insignificant and seemingly inconsequential details give the greatest leads. A shoddy job he did, if you ask me. He should have worn a glove.
If not that around here, there are no infrastructure to deal with issues, the crime scene could easily have been dusted and finger prints taken. Investigation would be far easier and faster with forensics. Finger prints on the camera and even in Ada's office would have gotten us this far much earlier.

Now, we have a lead. Isa the security man.

Whatever it was that Detective James wanted to say before, he ditched. Instead he said excitedly
"Ah! I was waiting for you to arrive. Thank God you are here now. Mr Stag sorry to have disturbed you, you may go back to your work."
I turned and left.

Minutes later, the two other security men had returned to their post while Isa the rider was still with Detective James. The detective had come alone without vehicle. So I guess he must have called for his colleagues because about forty-five minutes later, a van arrived with two policemen in uniform.
Isa was taken away for 'interrogation'.

Mercy had been quiet these few days at the office. People's body languages told her the was not wanted. And not many people tried to disguise this. The atmosphere was vehemently against her. The general opinion is that whatever her ambitions were, resulting to such low-life, callous and dirty way of eliminating a boss from her position was totally unacceptable. Word had gone round, beyond the office and people in various other offices around had heard. In times like this, people seem united against evil like this. And it gave some sense of belonging to a sane society. Without uttering a word, word was for her resign.
She hadn't been indicted so the MD couldn't immediately sack her.

Ada was now okay. Her system had cleaned out and she wasn't looking sick anymore and was feeding well. Though she was to be resting, she said she wanted to leave the hospital. I reasoned with her. Not everyone like hospitals. For some, the hospital odour is sickening. She said she would rest better at home, so she was discharged the next day.

The following day, Ada dressed up for work. Once she resumed in the morning, the MD gave Mercy a memo. She was suspended for "...complicity..." in the recent incidence in the office for which investigations were still on going and had not been formally de-listed as prime suspect. Being around the office would interfere and possibly tamper with evidences and other processes. She was however, to receive salary pending further overcome and actions.
No doubt, this was a smart way within confines of legality the MD handled the situation.
One thing I am sure of is this, regardless the outcome of the investigations, Mercy will be sacked eventually. One day while I was talking with the MD over my relationship with Ada, he had said no business manager would take a worker who snitches on her boss seriously. Because, given the right advantage for her, she snitch on him and even snitch on the company to a rival company.
He was never to promote her into that seat. That would be rewarding a beast, he argued. And sure enough, he'd have gotten good points to lay her off, if she doesn't get arrested and charged with all kinds of felonies.
A clever boss.

Detective James called to narrate how Isa had been begging in the cell. When they first interrogated him, he denied and was ranting that he be released else he would sue. But when the video was shown to him, while he still wore the ring on his finger, he looked like a bucket of ice-chilled water from the Antartica was poured over him.
He had admitted it being him, but denies being part of any plans. Yet, has no reason for covering the camera.
Not very smart, maybe even dumb.

I received a text from an unknown number. It read:
"The bus-stop at Planet-One, Maryland. 7pm"

I arrived 30minutes ahead of time. I sat far across the road in a small corner, attracting no attention to myself but taken a vantage point to have clear view of that Onigbongbo bus-stop and everyone hanging around or passing by. Nothing raised a flag. I observed it under close watch until it was almost time, then I walked towards it. And was standing there 2 minutes before 7. Why would anyone choose such a place for a meeting. But what made me feel easy was the fact that it was in the open, and well illuminated at night. A minute past 7pm, I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned.
Efe.
Without any greeting and without much ado...
"There's a racket. Many graduates finish school in the US and want to come back home to work. They don't want to come and stay idle not even for a month. These people are the ripe ones to be picked dry of some cash. So a non-existent recruiting firm gets paid in dollars to be employed into companies here, majority prefer the consulting firms. This is where the shepard comes in. Ada would never play ball, so an 'in-house' is needed on that seat. The silly girl was only playing someone's scripts. Much like a story you have heard before. Money is what drives. For a brief period the HR HOD was on leave, the lady tasted the power that seat had to play and felt the effect in her account. I do not know how much those spoilt brats pay for the non existent jobs so don't ask me. If you are what and whom I think you are, then you have yourself a name already."
I just stood there listening. And in less than 2 minutes, the turned to leave, then stopped. He took a breath, shook his head and said
"Sorry about what happened to her. Tell her Zoro sends his warm regards"
With that, he left.
I just realized throughout the brief but singular most revealing encounter, I never said a word.
I was too shocked at these revelations to utter any word.

And so, a yeye porrn addict that nobody took serious would be privy to such intel. in the office place, some know everything going on underneath. Info that's far from even the owner of the firm lies in the hands of an ordinary worker. Nobody is useless, be friendly to everyone and never underestimate anyone...

Let alone Zoro.
